Katarzyna Krej

Polish visual artist and glass designer who uses traditional glass-forming techniques to create modern objects. She is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław (earning her diploma in the studio of professors Zbigniew Horbowy and Małgorzata Dajewska), and she also honed her craft at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart. Her works have been featured twice in the prestigious New Glass Review (Corning Museum of Glass, New York), a global benchmark for excellence in contemporary glass art. In 2024, she received the Creative Scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. She has also been awarded a grant from the Adam Mickiewicz Institute four times as part of the "Polish Culture Worldwide" program.


Katarzyna’s work extends beyond the studio, encompassing active involvement in the international glass art community; she was a juror for the GAS Green Exhibition 2023 in Seattle and currently sits on the Advisory Board of the European research project EXPECT_Art (Horizon Europe).


Her sculptures and performances have been presented at major international events, including The Venice Glass Week, the Biot International Glass Festival in France, and at the Shanghai Art Collection Museum. The artist's works are held in significant public and private collections in Poland and abroad. Her recent showcases include the "Metamorphosis. Craft From Poland" exhibition at the Collect Art Fair in London, and the "Living Forms" exhibition during Milan Design Week. Participation in the exhibitions in London and Milan was made possible thanks to the Creative Industries Institute.
