Project "On the edge".
On the Edge is a project that creates an open and dynamic space for the meeting and clash of diverse artistic personalities—those who treat drawing as an autonomous form of expression while simultaneously pushing beyond its traditional boundaries. The term borderlands of post-drawing space is understood here as a field for experimental and research-based creative practices. It becomes a platform for exploring new, individual redefinitions of what drawing can mean today. This initiative both invites the transgression of drawing’s conventional limits and seeks to identify the emerging contours of the discipline—fluid, multimedia territories at the edges of what we traditionally consider drawing.
The project is rooted in the belief that contemporary drawing is inherently multidimensional, complex, and interdisciplinary. Today, drawing infiltrates every area of visual art. It is not merely a starting point, a process sketch, a notation, or a visual script—it is also a fully autonomous, unbounded, and multifaceted final work. Its potential lies in its raw, initiating energy—not as a transitional step toward a “complete” form, but as a complete form in and of itself.
Through this lens, On the Edge aims to once again create space for reflection and recognition of this expanded potential. This process of continuous artistic inquiry is essential to the activation of progressive and vital forces within contemporary art.
