The "Strefa" Art Gallery has been operating since 2013.
Throughout its history, back when it was still known as inAW Gallery, many exhibitions of individual Artists, Designers and our Educators were held, as well as many collective exhibitions connected directly to the Department's activities. .
The program council consisted of members of the Department of Fine Arts, chaired by Prof. Ewa Kutermak-Madej, the first curator of the Gallery, who was replaced in subsequent years by Dr. Michał Misiak, a professor from the Academy of Fine Arts.
In October 2020, Dr. Tomasz Westrych took over as artistic curator and manager of the Gallery, on whose initiative it was decided to give the gallery space a new identifying face, distinguishing the exhibition area, installing a lighting system and giving it a new name: ZONE - WAW ART GALLERY. The art zone also gained its own graphic symbol, which was selected during a competition organized among students in the Graphic Design Studio under the supervision of Dr. Wojciech Kapela. The author of the winning logo is student Katarzyna Jasińska.
The nature of the program of organized exhibitions has been and will be closely related to the specificity of WAW, particularly emphasizing artistic meetings with broadly understood thinking about space; taking into account in the exhibition part the role of the contemporary artist's workshop and its originality.
The exhibition was a kind of cross-section of the creator's broad artistic activity, showing the interdisciplinary nature of his works.
